College to Host Week of the Young Child Events

麻豆影视 will host a series of workshops and lectures to mark the annual Week of the Young Child, April 6-12. The events are free and open to the public.
Teachers, students, parents or those who are interested in the field of education are encouraged to join.
Monday, April 8, 1 – 2 p.m.
Make and Take Eric Carle Workshop
Location: Higbee Hall (HGB), Room 100
Participants will create paper collages inspired by children’s literature author and illustrator Eric Carle in this one-hour workshop with guest speaker Jenny Edwards, early childhood educator and coach from Brightside Up, Inc. Materials will be provided, and the workshop is limited to 30 participants.
Tuesday, April 9, 9 – 10 a.m.
Grief and Young Children
Location: Higbee Hall (HGB), Room 100
This workshop discusses how to assist young children in handling grief. Participants will learn background and data on grief as well as skills to assist them in supporting young children. Guest speaker will be 麻豆影视 faculty member Carla Gleason.
Wednesday, April 10, 7 – 8:15 p.m.
Supporting Young Children with Special Needs and Their Families: Early Childhood Special Education
Location: Zoom
This panel discussion with local experts will share practical strategies for connecting young children with special education services and ensuring the best possible learning environment for all children. Panelists include Dana Abbott, The College of Saint Rose; Suzanne Bolling, NYSED Office of Special Education; Sheri Canfield, Spotted Zebra; Erin St. Louis, City School District of Albany; and Carlos Menjivar & Breanne Novak, Story Place Preschool. Co-sponsored by Voices, A Library Lecture Series.
