Sonographers, also called ultrasound technologists, use special imaging equipment that directs sound waves into a patient's body to assess and diagnose various medical conditions. This one-year certificate program gives you the skills to be a competent entry-level general sonographer.
Those entering the program are often graduates of the college's other allied health programs, such as the Radiologic Technology A.A.S. program, but some enter the program with a bachelor's degree and the required prerequisites.
This academic program is primarily designed for those who wish to enter the workforce immediately following graduation.

- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and ranked by date of complete application. Review begins every year on February 1 for an August start term.
- The program duration is one full year from August to August. View the guidelines for admission.
- Student applying to the program must complete both the 40 hour Observation Form and Patient Skills Verification Form.
- All applicants accepted into the program must be able to meet the program's technical standards as outlined in the Technical Standards Policy.

Clinical Affiliations & Certification
The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography certificate program has clinical affiliations with imaging centers around the region.
Graduates are prepared to take certification examination in Adult Echocardiography.
